While starting to feel the soreness from Tuesdays workout, I pushed through it but decided to go a bit more basic this time. I know from postings and videos Ill need to build up upper body strength along with cardio stamina. That being said, I decided to regress a bit on my training knowing that I was jumping in a bit early on the more complex stuff after being off for months.
I figure from now till the event, Ive got 5 months to build up my body for at least 12 miles of trudging through mud, going up hill, and running through hell. So by my calculation if i build up at least 3-4 miles a month on my cardio working on sprints and up hill runs, I should be decent running wise. As for my upper body workout, today I went with a dumbbell curl and military press combo two sets of 15 each increasing weight for the second set, push ups a set of 25, triceps extensions, two sets of 25 crunches, and three sets of lat pull downs with increasing weight.
My body feels pretty well worked for today, and I can only imagine the soreness I'll be feeling this weekend. With Pompus coming up for a team workout, I'm sure to have my ass handed to me with a smile... lol
