The Tough Mudder. Man, what a commitment. Honestly, there are few people I would prefer to do this with than with my boy Denwaldo. After running a full marathon with him, I am already witness to the fact that he has the testicular fortitude to pull something like this off.
The immediate buzz is definitely one of anticipation and hype, but now we need to simmer down and find structure and form to our training. We haven't even registered yet for Christ's sake! That is forthcoming, for sure. I'm waiting for Denny to confirm with work and such and then we're good to go.
For me, the mudder is more than just 12 miles of agony. It's a challenge, a wall, something new to conquer physically. The past 4 years for me have been riddled with one injury after the next, more than half of which required reconstructive surgery. I'm ready for the next phase. A new lifestyle of healthy living where fitness and skydiving rule. Hopefully this is the stepping stone; the building block to a healthier me!
Interesting isn't it that this all kicks in on the first of July. What a nice, clean date to start the journey; five months until the big event.
Keep posted for new details and future training session updates.
Pompa out.
