Good Evening Fellow Mudders,
DC and I just got back from a short run. It has been a slower week than normal, due to us being sick yesterday and only running once last week.
Last week was a 2 mile trail run through Wickham Park, to run a different type of Terrain. I ran in my New Balance Minimus MT10 Trail Shoes and tried to adapt to a forward to mid step gait to my run. I did okay.
Today I switched it up and ran in my Vibram 5 Fingers KSO shoes. They are the model with no tread or padding on the bottom. We did 2 miles and came in at 19 min 39 sec for the overall time. Our best yet. Now time for endurance and speed.
I felt like I did good with the minimalist shoes, as I feel I naturally run on the ball of my foot. With the 5 Fingers, you would know if you used your heel, as it would cause a jarring heel to pavement contact.
Thanks and happy training to all.
Jeremy, I live and die by my Vibrams. It's nice to know someone else on the team uses them. I've had three different pairs over the last 3 years. Used them on the mudder also and they were great.
