Ok, so technically I'm not the one training for a marathon, but I did run the first 5 miles of my girl's 18 mile run with her this morning. I was aiming for 8 miles but blisters did me in. She also was suffering from some knee pain and ended her run earlier than desired.
Workouts like these, where we fall short of our goals due to injuries and pain, are workouts nonetheless. There's value is running 5 miles. It's five miles more than I would have run had I stayed in bed this morning.
What's going on with you guys? Is the Melbourne contingent thinking through an October group run? Sundays work best for me most of the month.
I am game for a run, name the date and time!!!
ReplyDeleteMui had mentioned that sept 30th was good for him, but it never happened. I just messaged him to see when in October would work. Are sundays really good for you guys? Jeremy and I had been throwing around some ideas on what we could do... it would probably include a bridge run, maybe a beach run (on the sand). Definately broken up with some drills in between. Didnt do jack this past week... What distance do you guys think we should aim for? we did 7+ in Mia.. should we increase it?
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a plan. That bridge run is brutal lol.
DeleteI say we shoot for 9 miles. I'm down for any Sunday pretty much. Last weekend in October might be tough. I prefer not running on sand, as I'm worried about my knees, but whatever...
ReplyDeleteso 9 miles, no sand, sunday... maybe first weekend in nov might be best? if no sand is involved, then its definately gotta have a bridge in there somewhere. I've just posted two routes for jeremy to check out. ones a 9+ mile run with only one bridge crossing in it, the second is an 11+ mile run with two bridge runs. Id prefer the 11+ mile run. We'd probably max out on one to two types of exercises (pushups, crunches, ect)every 2 miles or so, but ill run it by jeremy and see what he thinks of the route, distance, and overall location.
ReplyDeletewhat do you guys think of the first weekend in november? Wish more people would chime in...
