You can read all the details yourself, but a tabata "set" consist of 20 seconds of work followed by 10 seconds of rest. You do this for 8 rounds (total of 4 minutes), and you're only working for 2/3 of that time. You can string together 2 or 3 of these to get you to 8-12 minutes of workouts. The idea is that you are pushing it as aggressively as you can during each 20 second interval.
If you integrate one tabata training into your weekly routine, you don't even really need to leave the house to workout. It's a good workout for those late nights getting home or when you don't feel like leaving the house for a burn. Depending on how many exercises you couple together, you can get through a kick-ass workout in 20 minutes.
The routine in this video seems challenging. Can we set-up a team challenge on this one? My idea is that each of us independently performs this routine and then count the number of total reps you crank out. All reps, during the entire start to finish workout, without classifying them as push-ups, or sit-ups, or whatever. We can each post our results (with or without video).
Any takers?
