Welcome New Bloggers

It seems appropriate to formally welcome both Dave and Jared to the blog.  As you can tell from the series of posts, Denny and I have been using this site as a tool to communicate, stay informed, and keep each other in check and motivated.  I invite you both to post whatever you want.  It's our team blog so let's all contribute to it as a team.

I call both of you guys out a bit here and ask you to post something about what you are doing week to week to train for this thing.  It doesn't matter whether you are working out daily or once a week.  We are a team, so full disclosure is important.  Just put yourselves out there and say what's what.  I think Denny and I are fairly in tune with what we're doing, but it would be nice to hear from the two of you.

Also, this is a reminder that, the Tough Mudder is a HALF-MARATHON.  Ok, maybe just shy of a half-marathon, but I think you see where I'm going with this.  I don't care how much we are each doing in the gym (alot or a little) we all need to perform training runs at some point.  It doesn't matter how fit you are at the time of the event, running is running is running and we will need to step-up our running distance.

I myself am guilty of heavily slacking in this area of training.  I plan to formalize a progressive running plan for myself once I get past the hump of September 15th.

We have 14 weeks til the big day.  Let's think ahead to how much fun this event can be if we are all in great shape and properly conditioned for it.  We can take those obstacles and make them our bitches if we so choose to.  Let's also think ahead to what a nightmare this can turn out to be if we are holding the team back and/or having a difficult time managing the course.  You don't want to be the guy huffing and puffing and wishing you did more.  It's better to overdress for a party than to underdress.

14 weeks!
