Challenging.... but fun!

Last years event was awesome... challenging, but fun and do-able.  Once your up there at the starting line, and the MC starts pumping up the crowd, you really start to get a sense of camaraderie not only with your team mates, but with the hundreds of mudders lined up, that like you, trained for that day.

Like Pompa was saying, there are going to be obstacles that you may find easier than others, while your teammates might beg to differ.  For me, the Arctic Enema was a great start.  I literally could not breath once i jumped in.  My lungs froze, and it took a few seconds before i was able to gasp a bit for air.  After a few minutes, my body was completely numb, but once i jumped out, i felt alive and ready for what may lay ahead.

While it took me 3 tries on the balance beam before i was able to complete it, that was not my hardest event.  I'd probably say the second set of Berlin walls, (taller than the first set) when my calf cramped up, and a special obstacle which involved climbing along the side of a wall on a 1/2 inch piece of wood also with my calf cramped up were the two hardest for me.

My proudest moment in the event was making it though the funky monkey, an event i thought i was sure to fail, yet i was the only one to complete.  That alone made the whole event worthwhile.

The crazy costumes, the funky hair cuts, the different walks of life... Its a mix of different types of people you may never meet in life sharing a common goal.

That is what Toughmudder is all about...
